Our Mission

Mental Age Quiz was created with a simple goal: to give people a fun, thoughtful way to reflect on their personality and how they relate to the world. Age is more than a number on your birth certificate — it's shaped by your experiences, emotions, curiosity, and outlook on life.

We believe self-reflection should be accessible, entertaining, and shareable. That's why our quizzes are free, require no signup, and produce results you can compare with friends.

These dimensions are loosely inspired by the Big Five personality model (also known as OCEAN: Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, Neuroticism), one of the most widely researched and validated frameworks in personality psychology. We've adapted and simplified these traits to focus on age-related personality characteristics.

The Science Behind It

The concept of "mental age" has a rich history in psychology:

  • Alfred Binet introduced the idea in 1905 as part of the first standardized intelligence test for children
  • Lewis Terman adapted it into the Stanford-Binet test, one of the most widely used intelligence assessments
  • William Stern used mental age as the basis for the original IQ formula

While modern psychology has moved beyond the original mental age formula, the underlying idea — that cognitive and emotional development doesn't always match chronological age — remains well-supported by research in developmental and personality psychology.

How Results Work

When you complete a quiz, your answers generate scores across all five dimensions. These scores, combined with your actual age, determine your mental age and match you with one of eight unique archetypes — from The Eternal Kid to The Timeless Spirit.
